[...] Rock on. Sounds pretty rad to me, and I can definitely relate to some of LB’s thoughts on gender and parenting (even though I am not yet a parent). There is even a glossary of terms related to queer parenting. Check it out. [...]

Thank you, smurf! I made a family alias "key" and stuck it as an adjunct to the "About" page, here.

"Genderology" (a totally made-up word) coming up forthwith!

genderology

http://icallherjohn.blogspot.com/2006/11/effects-of-moving-down-gender-scale.html
"In the spirit of "genderology" (a term I learned from LesbianDad)..."

I'm not sure if it would belong here, but a cast of characters -- or at least a formal spelling-out of K.I.A.B.I.L -- might save repeated explanations.

Looky, Daddy said: "I tried to come up for some terms for your glossary, but none of mine had enough syllables for your site."

This came as no surprise to me, since he has lamented before (or could that have been, razzed me about?) the vast disparity between his own average syllable count and that found on this pontificatory platform for polymophously perverse perfidy. Says so, right here (third ¶).

To which I can only reply, Abandon polysyllabic paranoias, all ye who enter here!

Nice fix! And no fur rubbed the wrong way. It's a good point, and off I go to tweak the text hither & yon. Ten years in: what I really want to know is, can you report that toddlerhood only lasts a few years? And that an Age of Reason emerges?

Hi,
Feels a bit rude to be chipping in like this as a first comment on your blog! Just one little thing I wanted to say about your Lesbian Dad definition. Something made me uncomfortable the first time I read it and I've just realised what it is.
You say:
"Often she's the non-biological parent in a lesbian family"
This makes it sound a little like there *has* to be one (non-biological parent), or that there *can* only be one.
How about:
"Often she's a non-biological parent in a lesbian family"?

It's only a little picky issue!

Most of these terms are entirely new to me - ten years into 'two mummies' parenthood. Probably because I'm British. I do have a vague memory of alternative insemination...
