Exuberance factor was just an eensy bit higher this year. (Not like last year was bad a’tall.)
Pre-school hi-jinx.
She’s a traditionalist. What can I say.
Après class. Thinkin’ the day went okay. One down, 179 to go.

LesbianDad is a personal essay/photography blog. It began as a document of my parenthood but, like life, its ambit has stretched to include much more than I expected. My kids call me "Baba," and together we work toward a world in which amor really does vincit omnia.

what a beautiful child.
all the best for her school year, and all of the other years to come!
did she already know any of her classmates?
Thank you! So far so good!
And fortunately several classmates from last year are with her now. Plus, as we like to tell her, friends she hasn’t met yet.
Glad she had a good day. Congratulations on bein named one of the “Must Read” moms. I enjoy your blog.
Looks like a complelty tear free day! I thought the first day of school was a traditional day of weeping and screaming, or maybe thats just the deep supressed memories of my own first day of school?
And if one day in the distant future my kids turn out to be half as beatufiul as yours I shall be a very happy lady.
What an amazing smile. Beautiful doesn’t begin to describe the life and sparkle that emanate from that girl.
The wee emoticon also pales in comparison. You know, I spend so much time thinking about recording their everyday lives, that only sometimes are they filled with huge, sincere smiles, staring at the camera (for a moment, it’s more like the camera is staring at them). She was just so filled with pride and fullness. I agree: it totally emanates from her face in this moment.
