Myth and fiction, perhaps, but it's good stuff!

I've heard that many a relationship has been salvaged by domestic support staff. And not just marital relationships. I knew a friend who lived in a group house, and after much struggle over implementing shared house cleaning shifts of comparable quality, the slacker in question ponied up for a pro job when her "shift" came around. Everyone was absolutely beside themselves with delight and they all eventually decided to share the cost of the pro cleaner together, biweekly.

The happiest my own beloved was was a short, heady period of a few months when, in stark contrast to our financial capabilities (and my own personal comfort level), we employed a once-a-month house cleaner. She'd urge me out on dates to Fellini double-bills with the Italian waitress, even, just so's she could marvel in the symphony of cleanliness and order back home.

No gregarious waitresses o'er here, nor weekly date nights. Not sure if this is chicken or egg to my unrequited longing for......a housekeeper. An idea seeded by a friend of a friend who reputedly has one. This truly is the stuff of myth and fiction. In my imagination at least a grey shadowy figure who unobtrusively tidies, cleans, washes and irons leaving only the most enjoyable household tasks for completion.
Not something I'd want in reality but its funny how the mind wanders.
