I have never told you my dad died. Yet with your words (that were not intended for me personally) you have acknowledged him (and me) more than the crowds of people who were at his funeral and whose whispered "I'm sorry"s were just lip service. You never said the common condolence, for which you were remorseful - but you did better, saying words you meant. She didn't need an empty "Sorry", but what you gave seems to have touched her more. Thanks.

gorgeous.
early christmas morning what a story to read as i hear the infant coo'ing in the background and the angels can't be far behind.
no matter how she voted, no doubt if she had to do it again she'd vote no. it's that kind of contact that changes minds and hearts. simple warmth and human connection.
and you're so right about the new level of trust in the world that comes forward when there is another leeeetle one present. wowee.
and breathe.
