Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The love of your daughter for our children is abundant, and returned in spades:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pbfamily/2862277862/" title="Untitled by LesbianDad, on Flickr" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3232/2862277862_d36cf3dee8_m.jpg" width="240" height="160" alt="" /></a>

And so is our gratitude (abundant), for the generosity of those of you who know families like ours, and stand up for them, not once, but again and again.

Thank <i>you</i> woodnymphs_mom.

Wood Nymph told me that reading this post made her sad because it's hurtful that anyone would want to see a beautiful family like yours as anything but good and right (paraphrase). I don't like it when Wood Nymph is sad. I actually find your post inspiring, but I can't get over my anger at the Yes on 8 campaign's self-righteous, out-of-state moneybags. So once again this middle-aged straight woman, married for 24 years, has donated to No on 8 to get her dollars doubled. Meanwhile, Wood Nymph has mailed in her absentee ballot to vote in her first election. I will phone Wood Nymph's big sister to make sure she sends hers in as well.

Keep up the good work, Lesbian Dad.

Two things:
Number one - amen. Don't let the Yes on 8 campaign lead you to see hate in every corner. Largely, it boils down to fear and ignorance, which in my experience evaporates when a little light and knowledge is brought to bear. And you and yours are loved, deep and wide.
Number two - I always bear Gandhi's words close to my breast when it comes to civil rights battles: first they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win. You need to hold that close, because it's true. The Mormon church is fighting this hard because you're that close to winning. And even if the win is delayed past this battle, there is a tide in the world that not even the religious American right will be able to stem. Equal rights for LGBT folks are inevitable, especially as the wave of Dubya fever passes. It's coming, sister. Believe it, now and on November 5, no matter how this particular vote shapes up.

Donated again, thanks to your info about the million dollar challenge and your repeated reminders about how important this is.
Hope marriage is still possible when my sweetie and I are ready for that stage of our lives.

I don't remember how I stumbled up on your blog, but I did - several months ago - and have been reading ever since.

I'm a native Illinoisan, currently living in NYC, and happily (and legally) married to my husband for 6 years.

I donated $25 to "No on 8" tonight thanks to your inspiring posts. I've always been proudly pro-equality (despite my conservative, small town upbringing), but it feels good to do something concrete by putting some money toward the effort this year.

I'll be watching the election results closely on November 5, and not just for an Obama victory. Good luck!
