Afterward, she returned to her non-stop role-play, which entails not only her being Kaspar, but Mama being another king, and her lil' peanut brother being yet another king. Baba? I'm always a shepherd. Which the girlie didn't hesitate to remind me. "You're always the shepherd, Baba!" she says, poking my belly and giggling uncontrollably at the obvious ignominy of the role. "Always the shepherd, never the bride," I lament melodramatically. "Now remember honey," Mama reminds her daughter, "there are no small parts. Only small actors."
