Ohhhh. I am so sorry. Thanks for sharing about your beloved Maxie.

She looked so much like our sweet dog who died last year. We had to make the same difficult decision, and now we face it with one of our cats, who has kidney disease and is slowly starving. It’s been sad and helpful to read your posts–thanks for putting some of our feelings into words.

What a poignant photo . . . So sad about Maxi, but also, really beautiful that she brought you from being alone and sad, through so much, to the place you are now, with a loving family of your own. If you think about it, she was by your side when you needed her most, and saw you safely into this next chapter of your life, and only then was she ready to move to her next stage. She was very special, and I know that you gave her a wonderful life. You are always in our thoughts, and especially now during this time.
