Lesbian Dad 101
Hieroglyphics alert! LD recently made the jump to WordPress 2.5.1, with which came hieroglyphics (–) everywhere in the archival material. I've weeded a coupla dozen posts, and continue to do more when I have time, but please be patient 'til I git the mechanic to git the rest of it outta here. Shouldn't be too long.
Other maintainence work:Whilst I figure out how to make the best use of spiffy blogroll widgets and the new Links page, links on this home page will be a-shufflin' a bit. Good news: more of 'em, better organized (I think).
Lesbian Dad is written by a parent who answers to the name "Baba" and works toward a world in which amor does indeed vincit omnia.
Still curious? You'll find a ton more on the About page. Baffled by the lingo? Peruse the Glossary. For the proper immersion experience, I highly recommend a visit to the Best of LD.

- mkatyc commented on O I just couldn’t resist saying Ohh, this was the best!
- Chumpy commented on And by point of contrast saying Aw If you mislay the heavenly harp (or CD or Beloved) under a mound of used tissues you could always try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8fOWo2hV4U for a recently revived take on daughter separation. Crazy fans would identify the song from the opening line 'School bag in hand.....' without using the link.
- Lesbian Dad commented on O I just couldn’t resist saying Happy to say that our meager household was a part of that spike, when we contributed (again). That and No on 8, sister.
- lizk commented on O I just couldn’t resist saying Yes! I was delighted to find this earlier today and sent it to several friends. Fun to sit back and watch them back themselves into a corner -- give them enough rope, etc. etc. BTW, I read that Palin's rant, er, speech, has caused a huge spike in donations to the Obama/Biden ticket.
- Nelfy commented on O I just couldn’t resist saying hehe. thanks for posting this. I think I develop a tiny crush on jon stewart every time I see one of those clips. I should get one of those t-shirts "I'd go straight for jon stewart". ;-). I am always 'amused' by the double standards eg her daughter made the "choice" to have her baby
- immoralmatriarch commented on O I just couldn’t resist saying Great minds, again. This is embedded in my blog post that's scheduled for tomorrow.
- Lesbian Dad commented on And by point of contrast saying You people are stabbing a #2 pencil in my heart here, all the eloquence. Whatever shall we do. Before meandering down this primrose parenting path, I had no idea it would be a non-stop, daily exercise in how precious and precious little our time is. Sigh. Back to the harp music.
- Shereen commented on And by point of contrast saying I KNOW. Our little one started grade one on Tuesday. Day one - trying not to bawl as she joined the lineup of students, and walked away from us into the classroom. Day two - trying not to bawl as she climbed away from us up the steps of the school bus. Every night -

I particularly like the little smoothie bit on her right shoulder. I’ve always been amazed and perplexed by kids’ ability to get food and drink on that specific part of the body. It takes special talent.
What an eagle eye you have on you! Here’s the “after” picture, after she cleaned it all off with her tongue:
(I just linked up a mini-slide show to the images, if you can’t resist the whole pictorial narrative from beginning to end.)
Adorable slide show (and very cool - you are such a fancy little blogstress)! You take great pictures but, of course, it seems like you have great material
She looks like she is completely accustomed to having her every move photographed.
Many thanks. I’d have to toss the credit over to the raw material, aided & abetted by Flickr’s convenient E-Z set viewing dealie-o. I do like that so far, she’s unselfconscious about being photographed. It happens, like the picking of the nose happens. I dread the moment when she “poses” for the camera. At that point I may just have to put it down. That, or get a telephoto lens and go stealth.
Too cute.
i also love the under-the-swing-rainbow tights photo on your Flickr page. That must have been interesting to take.
Thanks! Ja, youbetcha it was fun. I was lying on my back the whole time and then wangling around to get fun light with the sun. Here’s one I didn’t initially post, but I think might have been the funnest, sun-wise:
So young, and yet self-reliant! Isn’t she brilliant?
Oh, womanwithkids, I couldn’t agree with you more! Your perspicacity dazzles.
