Fifteen minutes of flame

Punky w/H20-melon, Warholized
You, too, can “Warholize” your images right ‘chere. The knock-off above came from an image that looked something like this before the Warholizer got to it.

Because our household has enough frayed nerves to duck tape together, what with the pregnant one of us getting pregnanter and pregnanter by the hour (yes, it’s the eighth month marathon), I am very anti-fray. However, Fray Happens, and its dark shadow has passed over the otherwise gleeful and good-spirited Weblog Awards popularity pageant (still ongoing, lord help us, until Friday night, 11:59 EST).

I would dignify, embolden, and otherwise broadcast said fray, were I to repeat it here. But I do want to send a wee Buddhist bow of gratitude in the direction of the folks over at Hertz (this would be Avis over here) for pulling the plug on the abovementioned fray. [Later note: the blog to which I refer as Hertz -- the then front-runner blog in the Awards competition -- wiped their site of all posts relating to the Weblog Awards soon after the voting ended. So the link goes to a dead-end, alas.]

If none of this makes sense because you were watching another channel up until now, never mind. Just click the link up there on the Warholizer thing and play around until your boss walks up behind you and tells you to get back to work.

[Coda: interesting bit putting the blogular impulse in perspective, by that nice young man Andrew Sullivan.]

Such a cuite-pie. I am so excited about your blog, and can’t wait to catch up on it. You have such a fantastic voice and perspective, and I very much miss hearing it on my weekly basis. But now I get to see glimpses of it. Color me lucky.

Best of luck on the voting thing, extremely cute Warho, happy holidays, and as always, thinking of you and the rest of your family.

LD's No on California Prop 8 fundraising

    Goal Thermometer no-on-8-cutie

The time to step up is now.

See that cute kid there on the right? My son. The day, this July, that my partner and I got hitched. It was our fourteenth anniversary. Help.

    Featured election news/analysis:

Ellen DeGeneres: "My Political Point... And I Do Have One," on 24 Sept., 2008 at her site.
The wording of Prop 8 is tricky. It’s like if someone asked you, “You don’t want dessert, right?” But you do want dessert so you say, “Yes,” which really means you don’t want dessert. And if you say, “No,” which means you do want dessert -- it sounds like you don’t. Either way, you don’t get what you want. See -- confusing. Just like Prop. 8.

So, in case I haven’t made myself clear, I’m FOR gay marriage. And in order to protect that right -- please VOTE NO on Proposition 8. And now that you’re informed, spread the word. I’m begging you. I can’t return the wedding gifts -- I love my new toaster.
For those that missed it, here Ellen is chatting with McCain (2 Sept., 2008) on the topic of gay marriage.
